Lately, I’ve been pushing myself to not just capture “beautiful photos” for my couples, but photos that truly show emotion and focus on visual storytelling. Before this session, I was listening to a podcast where the photographer challenged us to tell a story in 20 photos. I thought about how I could stretch myself creatively to tell my client’s love stories in a way that resonates with them. It’s always my goal that my couples feel comfortable enough to be themselves with me and in front of the camera, which I know is not an easy feat.

When Clarisa reached out, she shared that she her husband Andru, would be celebrating their one year anniversary in December, so they wanted to celebrate with a photoshoot in St. Augustine. Their first trip together was to St. Augustine, so it holds a really special place in their hearts. I learned the beach is one of their favorite places to spend time together and they love watching the little crabs come out of the sand and walking along the shore at sunset. With how meaningful this place was, and understanding the intimate/playful/romantic vibes they were going for, I was ready to tell their story.

From the sandy footprints as they run on the beach, to skipping rocks and searching for seashells, enjoy the story of Clarisa and Andru.
