I’m a North Florida-based Wedding and Couples photographer. Since 2020, I’ve been all about capturing that 'carefree kinda love.' It’s important to me that your vibe, the essence of who you are, is captured on camera. I want you to look back on these photos with your honey and think “yes, this is SO us!”
December is one of my favorite months for family sessions in Florida. There’s just something about the cooler weather that makes everything fall into place perfectly. The Cho family reached out for some family/maternity photos as they get ready to welcome their newest family member in a few weeks.Their sweet daughter is 2 years old and her energy reminds me of my kiddos, Indie and Westin, so much.
She was sassy and sweet, and brought all the energy and giggles to our session. My approach to family sessions is really laid back because as a mom of a 4 and 2 year old, I know that no matter what, kids are going to do what they want to do at the family photoshoot. No matter how much you try to prep or bribe them, whatever mood they’re in will dictate the session a lot. That’s not a bad thing though, I love capturing my family’s photos in a candid and authentic manner. I want to capture you smothering them with kisses, dad throwing the babies (sometimes scarily high) in the air, and random tickle attacks.
The Baughman Center was my family’s location of choice for their photos and I love how versatile it is. There’s the gorgeous building with tall glass windows on the side, which we get a beautiful view of when standing on the bridge. Just behind the Baughman center you’re right on Lake Alice with a gorgeous water background and tall grasses.
By the end of the Cho’s family photos, their daughter was giving me all the candid photo ops by running circles around her parents. Like I said, we roll with the punches when it comes to the kids, so I let mom and dad take some solo time for couple’s portraits and some solo maternity shots of mama while their daughter got the wiggles out. When shooting mom and dad on the picnic blanket, I was able to capture some sweet couples photos of them, and then back up to capture their daughter running circles around them, occasionally coming in for a big hug and some kisses.
Every session I leave feeling so warm and full, but I especially feel that way when I capture my families. As a mom, I cherish these moments with my babies, especially when I have photos to look back on where I’m actually in them and not taking the photo. I love sharing with couples the beauty I see in their family dynamic and the way they smile at and hug their babies. Truly, this is the most rewarding job ever.
