Congaree and Penn, Jacksonville Florida
A Congaree and Penn Farm wedding on a gorgeous April day. The most ethereal dress, intimate vows and a pet-inspired drink menu. This night was one for the books!
Stephanie and Erik got married at Congaree and Penn, a farm and restaurant in Jacksonville, Florida. The ceremony took place under their giant oak tree on a gorgeous April day. Florida is known for being so hot, so I must say early spring weddings are my favorite. It almost feels like you could be in a different state.
The day started with photographing Steph and her bridal party getting ready at the The Space Between Jax. The Space Between has high ceilings, plenty of natural light and ample space for a large wedding party. It is designed in such a manner that makes it so aesthetically pleasing for candid getting ready photos, all the way to studio bridal portraits utilizing the backdrops they provide.
Let’s take a moment for the most ethereal dress that Stephanie wore from OML Bridal. The incredibly long train and trailing sleeves took my breath away. Photographing her in the studio space and capturing the full essence of the dress was probably my favorite part of the day.
Moving on to the venue at Congaree and Penn, we were blessed with the best weather. It was supposed to rain but that never happened. Back at the reception, Steph and Erik danced salsa, which was a nod to how they met – at salsa class in Gainesville! I absolutely love their love story and was so excited, although not surprised, that they incorporated this element into their day. At their engagement last year, they busted out the dance moves and I just KNEW there had to be something like this at the wedding. They’re both great dancers and it makes my heart so happy to see the special and unique ways my couples share their love with one another.
Speaking of incorporating unique and personal elements into their wedding day, here were some of Steph and Erik’s: a Polaroid photo guest book, a pet inspired drink menu, unique florals with either fragrant or edible elements, and table names based on meaningful locations they met or traveled together.
